Big jolt to Uddhav Thackeray: Devendra Fadnavis says 'operation successful' as Omraje Nimbalkar exits Sena (UBT)
MUMBAI: In a final indication that Operation Tiger was complete and successful, rebel Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Omraje Nimbalkar on Sunday said he had decided to join the Shiv Sena and work under the leadership of Eknath Shinde.Omraje met his supporters in his constituency, Dharashiv, where he said it was important to be in power to carry out even basic development works in the constituency. Omraje said that despite being an MP and party functionaries working hard, the Shiv Sena (UBT) could not win even a single Panchayat Samiti or Nagar Parishad seat in Dharashiv. The development came as Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis confirmed the political move involving Nimbalkar, saying, “the operation is successful”.Omraje said many good workers were defeated badly in the local body polls and that despite working 24x7 for the people, they lost due to the power of the government. He claimed that he is not someone who joins for money or any position. Speaking about the verdict in his father's murder trial, Omraje said he spoke to CM Devendra Fadnavis and DCM Eknath Shinde, who also made him speak to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who assured him justice.
There was widespread speculation about whether Omraje was waiting for a conviction in the Pawanraje Nimbalkar murder case before switching to the Sena. After the acquittals on Saturday, Nimbalkar remained non-committal and said he would announce his decision in two days after speaking to people in his constituency, Dharashiv.Omraje said, “Yesterday, regarding the verdict, I spoke to CM Devendra Fadnavis and DCM Eknath Shinde.
They also made me speak to Amit Shah. We requested him that we don’t want any favour, but we are only asking for justice for the struggle we have been fighting for the last twenty years. We made a sincere request and Eknath Shinde himself came forward and gave a statement. The CBI is going to file an appeal in the High Court regarding this matter."Today, with more power, the injustice being done to ordinary workers like us must be stopped.
Today, in villages, my people are being stopped. There are many public works. People feel that MPs should do work. Today, it has been seven years, and people have high expectations," he added.“I will use power in the government to work for the common man. I do not have any personal work. I do not have any business that I want to protect. There were no ED or CBI raids on me. We will show people how power can be used.""I have definitely received the immense love and blessings of all of you, respected Uddhavji, respected Aaditya Ji and Balasaheb (Thackeray).
I have never said a bad word about anyone, and I never will. I have also told all our Sainiks that we should not say a single word about Matoshree. I have requested all the workers to express my heartfelt gratitude to them (Thackerays)," he added further.“The investigation of the murder case was shifted to CBI after our petition. The judicial process continued for twenty years without interruption. Our family had very high expectations from the verdict. But unfortunately, the court says that political parties are involved in the murders. It also accepts that.""The court also accepts that motive is important in any murder case. But unfortunately, based on the investigation by Kalamboli Police, I think the manner in which the verdict was reached was very unfortunate," Omraje said.
