Pedestrian seriously injured in South Auckland crash

A pedestrian is critically injured after a crash in South Auckland's Māngere.

A person was hit by a car at the intersection of Buckland Road and Massey Road.

The pedestrian has been taken to hospital.

The crash was reported to police at 10.46am on Monday.

The Serious Crash Unit are investigating and the road has been closed while they examine the scene.

Detours are in place on Massey Road between Yates Road and Alter Street, and on Buckland Road between Royton Ave and Allen Street.

Motorists can expect delays and are advised to avoid the area if possible.
