
CEBU CITY, Philippines — ERCO Football Club (FC) stamped its class in the men’s open division of Copa Cebu 2026, claiming the title with a 2–0 win over FC Inter-Racial of Dumaguete in the championship match on Sunday night, June 21, at the Dynamic Herb-Borromeo Sports Complex.
One of Cebu’s established football clubs, ERCO leaned on a balanced squad anchored by players from Cebu Football Club (FC) Gentle Giants, a combination that proved decisive throughout the tournament.
Homegrown standouts Glenn Thomas Ramos and Clyde Vitualla delivered the goals in the final, while Kore Marius Kore earned Most Valuable Player honors for his all-around impact on both ends of the pitch, highlighted by his defensive work rate and timely attacking support.
ERCO booked its finals ticket after edging rival San Roque Football Club (SRFC), 3–2, in a tightly contested semifinal. FC Inter-Racial, for its part, secured its place in the title match after a hard-fought 4–3 win over Makoto FC.
Other COPA divisions
In the boys 15 category, Sugbo Calidad clinched the crown with a narrow 1–0 victory over HP95 FC, with Dboy Vuelga named MVP.
Benthel Asia School of Technology (BAST) Green Lions also made their mark, securing their second title of the tournament after defeating Makati FC, 1–0, in the under-13 final. Amare Clark Cartalaba was named MVP of the division.

A total of 102 clubs from Cebu City, Lapu-Lapu City, Mandaue City, City of Naga, Tacloban, Davao, Talisay, and Iloilo took part in the three-day competition. The tournament was organized by young Cebuano football enthusiasts aiming to build a grassroots developmental league aligned with Department of Education (DepEd) and Palarong Pambansa formats, featuring 8-a-side and 9-a-side divisions.
The event was also sanctioned by the Cebu Regional Football Association (CRFA).
