
MANILA, Philippines — Both suspects behind the shooting incident at a Tacloban City school on Monday have been arrested, the Police Regional Office Eastern Visayas (PRO 8) said.
“As to the first culprit, our suspect here, right after the incident, we caught him in the school,” PRO 8 director Brig. Gen. Jason Capoy told reporters in a phone interview.

“The second… We caught him right there in Barangay 87 also, near the school in San Jose. Some neighbors, some civilians, voluntarily looked for the child suspect. That’s how they managed to call the police and we caught him soon after,” he added.

He identified the two suspects as a 14-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy, both of whom were Grade 9 students.
A Glock pistol and a caliber .38 revolver were confiscated from the suspects, Capoy noted.
The shooting occurred sometime around 9 a.m. on Monday inside the school premises in Barangay San Jose.
According to Capoy, three students were killed, while seven more were injured.

The two arrested suspects will be turned over to the city social welfare department, Capoy added. /das
