Meloni ignores Trump's latest tirade
We defended Italy but they were not there for us says US President

Premier Giorgia Meloni has so far not
responded to US President Donald Trump's latest attack on her in
a spat sparked by him saying she "begged" him to have a photo
with her at last week's G7 summit, a story she said was
fabricated.
The row escalated at the weekend with Trump reiterating the
claim in a post on his Truth social-media platform and saying
Meloni only wants to patch things up with him to boost her
domestic approval rating.
Trump and Meloni had been good friends until the Iran war, with
Italy's refusal to help the US irking the American leader.
The premier hit back via a post on Instagram, calling Trump's
attacks "senseless", saying her relations with him had not
helped her approval rankings and telling him that her popularity
was none of his business.
She added that she did not intend to comment further on the row.
But Trump did, with a new post on Truth on Sunday.
"After spending Trillions of Dollars on NATO, Italy, and its
Prime Minister, wouldn't even think of becoming involved with
the Islamic Republic of Iran and their very serious Nuclear
Threat," he said.
"For decades, we defend them but, when tested, they are not
there to defend us, and the rest of the World. Not good!".
At the time of writing, Meloni had ignored those comments.
