The mother of two sisters aged 16 and
12 who were found on Sunday two weeks after they vanished from a
foster home in province of L'Aquila town of Civitella Alfedena
was arrested on Monday along with her partner and her father,
sources said.
All three are accused of conspiracy to commit kidnapping.
The woman, Valentina D'Acunto, has been taken to to prison in
Teramo; while her partner and the girls' grandfather, Vincenzo
Esposito and Marco D'Acunto, are in prison in Sulmona.
The sisters, Sarah and Alisya, were found in good health by the
Carabinieri police in a home owned by an uncle in Formia, in the
province of Latina.
Before they were found, the mother had said via her lawyer on
Sunday that she feared they were dead.
The girls' disappearance led to a huge search for them to be
launched.
