The intense heatwave that is baking
Italy, along with much of Central and Western Europe, is set to
last at least until the end of June, with temperatures peaking
at 39°C in many parts of the country, iLMeteo.it meteorologist
Mattia Gussoni said on Monday.
Big cities like Milan, Florence, and Rome will be among the
worst affected because of the urban heat island (UHI) effect, he
said.
Perhaps the worst thing is that there will not be any relief
from the heat even at night, with temperatures struggling to
drop below the 24-25°C mark and so-called 'super tropical
nights' making to hard to sleep.
