Algarve 41 Club announces new chairman

Algarve 41 Club has announced the appointment of Kevin Ferriby as Chairman for the 2026-27 year, following the Club’s Annual General Meeting, which formed part of a successful three-day programme of fellowship, sport and celebration.

At the AGM lunch held at the O Farol restaurant in Rocha Brava, Carvoeiro, members confirmed Kevin Ferriby as the incoming Chairman, with Chris Lester taking up the role of Vice Chairman. The appointments mark the beginning of a new chapter for Algarve 41 Club as it continues to promote friendship, community spirit and active engagement among its members across the Algarve.

The AGM was held as part of a three-day event that brought members and guests together for a varied programme. The formal AGM lunch provided an opportunity to reflect on the Club’s activities and achievements, as well as to look ahead to the year to come under the new leadership team.

The following day members enjoyed a bowls competition in the Algarve sunshine at Valverde Bowls Club in Almancil, adding a relaxed and sporting element to the AGM programme.

The three-day event concluded in style with a Ladies Night Dinner at the Penina Hotel, where members and guests gathered for an evening of fellowship and celebration. Over the three days, members raised over €1,600 which will be distributed to local charities in the Algarve.

Speaking after the AGM, the outgoing chairman, Kendal Milne, welcomed the new appointments and expressed confidence that the Algarve 41 Club was in good hands under the new leadership team, who will guide it through another active and successful year. Thanks were extended to all members, guests and venues involved in making the AGM programme a memorable occasion.

With the Club now in its 41st year, members and partners continue to meet twice a month on the first and third Tuesdays, the latter being a social dinner and, of the 38 members, 13 are now resident in the Algarve, whilst “overseas” members come from the UK, Ireland and Finland.
