
CEBU CITY, Philippines — A 27-year-old man tagged by police as a high-value individual (HVI) was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Sambag 2, Cebu City on Sunday evening, June 21.
Police identified the suspect as alias “Vey,” a resident of Sitio Calijon, Barangay Labangon, Cebu City.
Operatives of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of Abellana Police Station arrested the suspect around 10:30 p.m. along Visitacion Street in Barangay Sambag 2 during an anti-illegal drug operation conducted in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

₱238,000 shabu seized
Recovered from the suspect were five heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu.
One sachet was allegedly sold to an undercover operative, while four other sachets were recovered from the suspect’s possession.
Police said the confiscated illegal drugs weighed around 35 grams and had an estimated street value of ₱238,000.

Authorities also recovered the ₱500 marked money used in the operation and a blue pouch allegedly used to store the illegal drugs.
Charges being prepared
The confiscated substances will be submitted to the Cebu City Forensic Unit 7 for laboratory examination.
As of Monday, June 22, alias “Vey” remains detained at the custodial facility of Abellana Police Station while authorities prepare charges for selling and possession of illegal drugs under the the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
