Tim Roth, Sofia Carson and Kate Beckinsale are among the top talents booked to attend the upcoming ninth edition of the Filming Italy Sardegna Festival, which will be held June 25-28 on the island of Sardinia.
Roth, who most recently starred in “Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man” and “Seven Snipers,” is expected to make the trek to Sardinia be feted. As will Carson, who has starred in five global No. 1 Netflix films including “Purple Hearts,” “Carry-On,” “The Life List” and “My Oxford Year” and is a multi-platinum recording artist. Carson will next appear in Wagner Moura’s “Last Night at the Lobster.” Beckinsale, who is best known as the protagonist of the “Underworld” action franchise and will soon lead “Twilights of the Dead,” the final installment of George A. Romero’s classic zombie saga, will also receive a prize.
The lineup of the fest, headed by marketing guru and festivals specialist Tiziana Rocca — who also runs Italy’s Taormina Film Festival — will feature summer Hollywood blockbusters such as “Toy Story 5” and James Gunn’s “Supergirl” alongside more under-the-radar U.S. fare like “Tex McKenzie — My Horse Is The Only Person I Trust,” the first Western co-directed by “The Bold and the Beautiful” star Ronn Moss, who will be on hand. Italian titles include erotic thriller “The Eyes of Others,” directed by Andrea de Sica (“Baby”) and starring Jasmine Trinca and Filippo Timi, about a Rome-set sexual affair that made headlines in 1970 involving a marquis who killed his wife and her lover.
As previously announced, Harvey Keitel, James Franco and Elsa Zylberstein are among other A-list talents booked to attend the fest.
Zylberstein, a producer and actress who is known for her Cesar-winning performance in “I’ve Loved You for So Long” and, more recently, “Simone: Woman of the Century,” will preside over the jury for the fest’s short film section.
