
TACLOBAN CITY — The Tacloban City government has ordered the strict enforcement of its curfew ordinance for minors and heightened security measures across the city following the June 22 shooting incident at San Jose National High School that left three students dead and 13 others wounded.
In a statement, city officials said the 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. curfew for minors will be rigorously enforced in the San Jose district and other parts of the city as authorities seek to prevent violence and maintain public safety in the wake of the tragedy.

The move comes a day after the shooting inside the San Jose National High School campus shocked residents and raised concerns over the involvement of minors in violent crimes. Police have taken into custody the two alleged minor suspects while investigations continue to determine the motive behind the attack.
The Tacloban City Police Office (TCPO) said police visibility and patrol operations would be intensified in San Jose and other key public areas, including the Sangyawan Grounds where nightly activities relative to the June 30 annual fiesta are being held.
Under the stricter measures, minors will not be allowed entry to the Sangyawan Grounds unless accompanied by their parents or legal guardians, according to the TCPO.

Last week, a brawl involving some alleged minors happened within the area, which is located at the Anibong district.

City officials urged residents to cooperate with law enforcement authorities as security measures are strengthened throughout the city.
The June 22 shooting at San Jose National High School is considered the deadliest school-related incidents in Eastern Visayas , if not in the entire cpuntry.

Authorities have yet to establish the motive behind the attack as investigators continue to gather evidence and interview witnesses, although one of the minor suspects claimed to have been a victim of bullying.
