MANILA, Philippines — The former driver of Henry Alcantara, ex Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) district engineer in Bulacan, on Tuesday said he delivered boxes which he suspected to contain cash to two former lawmakers.
Edrick San Diego, former driver in DPWH Bulacan, made the revelation as he took the witness stand at the Sandiganbayan Fourth Division trial for the graft case against former Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. and his co-accused in connection with an alleged P92.8-million “ghost” project in Pandi, Bulacan.
Fourth Division Chairperson Associate Justice Frederick Musngi asked San Diego if he delivered boxes for other personalities aside from former DPWH Undersecretary Roberto Bernardo.

San Diego named former Ako Bicol party-list Rep. Zaldy Co and Caloocan Rep. Mitch Cajayon.
Inquirer sought the comment of Cajayon and Co’s lawyer Ruy Rondain, but they have yet to respond as of posting.
Musngi asked San Diego to name names after he revealed, through the questioning of anti-graft court’s senior member Associate Justice Arthur Malabaguio, that he was ordered by Alcantara to deliver boxes.
Malabaguio asked how many times he delivered boxes from 2022 to 2025. San Diego said, “To my knowledge, 10 times”.

He said two of the 10 deliveries occurred in the “first quarter of 2025.”
In both instances in 2025, San Diego said he made the deliveries in the basement of Diamond Hotel, which he said was received by two drivers of Bernardo.

The first delivery, he said, contained “five to seven” boxes while the second delivery contained “seven to 10” boxes.
Initially, he said he did not know what the contents of the boxes he delivered to the Diamond Hotel were.
“But I started to suspect that the boxes contained money,” he told the court, adding that he had this suspicion since 2023.
He said he overheard Alcantara and his former personnel Carlo Rivera, who “mentioned something about millions.”
