
MANILA, Philippines — The policewoman who owns one of the guns used in the Tacloban City school shooting will face summary dismissal proceedings, Philippine National Police (PNP) public information chief Col. Allen Rae Co said on Tuesday.
The policewoman from Police Regional Office 8 owns the 9mm Glock 17 used by the 14-year-old suspect identified as alias “Nash.”
The policewoman is an aunt of the suspect.

“This policewoman is now under restrictive custody; she is undergoing pre-charge investigation and will also undergo summary dismissal proceedings,” he said at a Palace briefing.
The other firearm, a caliber .38 revolver, was used by a 15-year-old suspect named alias “Rod.” Co said it is owned by a security agency based in Cebu City.
Co said the PNP is still investigating how the suspects obtained the firearms.
He also said a total of 48 pieces of evidence were recovered from the scene, including fired cartridge cases (21), lead fragments of fired bullet (7), cartridges (13), deformed fired bullets (2), fired bullets (3), an empty magazine (1), and a missed-fired cartridge (1).

The shooting occurred at around 9 a.m. on Monday, when two Grade 9 students opened fire in at least two rooms inside the school premises, leaving three people dead and 20 others injured. /apl
