CEBU CITY, Philippines — Three familiar faces are back with the Cebu Greats as the team continues its campaign in the 2026 Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) season.
The Cebu Greats officially welcomed back Limuel Tampus, Dolan Adlawan, and JR Quiñahan to the roster on Monday, bolstering a squad that currently sits among the top teams in the Southern Division.
Known as part of the “Dorm Boys,” Tampus and Adlawan were members of the former Cebu Classic franchise before its rebranding. Quiñahan later joined the club midway through the 2025 season when the team had already transitioned into the Cebu Greats.

Tampus and Adlawan were initially left off the roster at the start of the season, while Quiñahan was listed but had yet to see action in any of the team’s games.
Reunion with Mark Meneses
The returning trio reunites with Mark Meneses, one of the key holdovers from the Cebu Classic era. The franchise underwent major changes following internal turmoil that triggered the departure of several players and coaches, eventually leading to its rebranding as the Cebu Greats under the ownership of Cebuano businessman Samson Lato.
Following an extensive rebuilding process, the Cebu Greats managed to reach the play-in tournament last season and have continued their rise this year.
Currently ranked fifth in the Southern Division with an 11-3 record, Cebu recently made significant roster moves aimed at strengthening its playoff push. The team added gritty Cebuano forward Jancork Cabahug, former CESAFI standout Elmer Echavez, and Ichie Altamirano to the fold while parting ways with Paul Desiderio, Bryan Heruela, Eman Calo, and several others.

Despite the roster shakeup, the Greats have kept their core intact. Meneses continues to lead the offense alongside veteran playmaker Jun Manzo and seasoned shooter Dondon Hontiveros. They are joined by key holdovers Ron Dennison, Simon Camacho, Wowie Escochio, Alvin Baetiong, and Ice Hontiveros as Cebu gears up for the second half of the season.
