
MANILA, Philippines – Families of those who died in the Tacloban City school shooting will each receive P150,000 in financial assistance, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro announced on Tuesday.
She also said the Department of Social Welfare and Development and the Department of Health will also provide psychosocial services to everyone affected by the incident.

The shooting occurred at San Jose National High School at around 9 a.m. on Monday. It left three people dead and 20 others wounded.

The suspects, aged 14 and 15, are currently under the custody of the DSWD.
In a press briefing earlier, the Philippine National Police said it is still investigating the motive behind the shooting but noted that the suspects were “heavily influenced” by online content.
The PNP also supports lowering the minimum age of criminal responsibility to 12 years old from the current age of 15. /jpv
