
MANILA, Philippines — Two men were arrested for allegedly transferring fuel worth P2.62 million without a Department of Energy permit in Marinduque, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said on Tuesday.
The arrested suspects, identified only as Tiaong, Quezon residents aged 28 and 30, were caught last Wednesday in Barangay Amoingon in Boac town, allegedly delivering petroleum products with a tanker truck.
Operatives seized the tanker carrying 8,000 liters of diesel, the PNP noted.

The two suspects were taken into police custody, awaiting charges for violating Batas Pambansa No. 33 as amended by Presidential Decree No. 1865, which pertains to the illegal trading of petroleum products.

“Strict enforcement of laws on illegal trade of petroleum products remains a priority. We will continue to run after those violating these regulations,” PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said in the statement.
“We will condone the illegal trade of products covered by the law. Our enforcement of the law continues for the good of the public,” he added. /cb
