Ponies has been canceled after one season on Peacock, and the stars of the series are weighing in on social media.
The series created by Susanna Fogel and David Iserson and starring Emilia Clarke and Haley Lu Richardson is not moving past Season 1, Deadline reported.
Following the news of the cancellation, Richardson shared an image on her Instagram Stories featuring donuts with writing on them.
One of the donuts said “Ponies,” another had her character name, Twila, written over it, and a third read “4Ever.”
Iserson took to Instagram to share his thoughts on Ponies not getting a renewal, remembering that the “journey” to getting this show started “over seven years ago,” adding, “What we made surpassed all of my hopes and dreams for a television show.”
“Saying this fights every self-deprecating, humble bone in my body, but Ponies is a great show,” Iserson wrote. “And it was made by great people. I am proud of every second we put on screen.”
Iserson noted that the “ratings” and “algorithms” are “out of my control” and felt “very lucky to have made something I love.” The co-creator was grateful for the people who watched the series and asked them to “tell others” about the show, “because I think they will like it too.”
Vic Michaelis, who played Vic Michaelis in the series, shared Iserson’s post and added, “Thank you so much to everyone who watched.”
Days before Ponies was reported to have been canceled, Simon Haines, who played Sgt. Davis Carter shared moments from the series’ set.
“A year ago today I wrapped on season 1 of PONIES – it was also the last day for lovely @vicmmic & @clare__hughes! this show… some of the best TV scripts I’ve ever read,” Haines wrote.
