Daryl Hall is on the mend, with the legendary Hall & Oates singer revealing he recently underwent a kidney transplant but is already seeing improvement with his health.
“Hi everybody! I thought you should know that I recently received a kidney transplant from a very kind and generous living donor,” Hall wrote in posts shared across his social media accounts on Tuesday. “It happened a couple of weeks ago, and I’m already starting to feel better. It was, according to my doctors, a complete success!”
Hall further wrote that he “should be back to normal in a few months,” saying that there’d be more of his shows from his Daryl’s House series on the way soon as well. The singer didn’t share any other specifics regarding his health, such as why he needed a new kidney or how long he’d been sick. THR has reached out to a representative for more information.
Beyond his health, among the most notable developments in Hall’s life in the past several years was his legal feud with John Oates after his former bandmate looked to sell his half in their joint venture, calling the move the “ultimate partnership betrayal.”
“There is no amount of money that could compensate me for being forced to partner with an entity that I did not agree to partner with, and whose business model does not comport with my views,” Hall wrote in a declaration at the time.
That suit quietly ended in arbitration last August, though there are no details on how the matter actually resolved, or what the terms of the voluntary dismissal were.
