Widespread fibre outage in central Auckland suburbs

There's a widespread fibre broadband outage in some central Auckland suburbs.

The telecommunications lines company, Chorus' website, shows the outage is affecting Grey Lynn, Westmere, and Western Springs.

Auckland Zoo said it was also without internet.

Chorus said technician had been onsite since 9am investigating.

Chorus said the internet outage started early on Wednesday impacting customers in and around Ponsonby.

"Our technicians are on site investigating the cause and working towards restoring services.

"We sincerely apologise for the disruption and thank customers for their patience while we work to resolve the issue."

Spark's website said some of its customers might also be experiencing a loss of internet on Wednesday morning.
