
TACLOBAN CITY— Leyte 1st District Rep. Martin Romualdez on Tuesday visited the families of students killed in a shooting at San Jose National High School that left several dead and at least 20 others injured, as authorities filed charges against a 15-year-old suspect.
The students were killed following a shooting incident at San Jose National High School, which also left at least 20 others injured, prompting an outpouring of grief and calls for justice in Leyte.
One of the suspects, a 15-year-old, has been charged with three counts of murder, three counts of frustrated murder, and multiple counts of serious physical injuries in connection with the attack, according to authorities.

In the wake of the tragedy, Romualdez personally visited the wakes of the slain students to extend his condolences to their grieving families. He also provided immediate financial assistance to help them during this difficult time.
Romualdez later went to Leyte Provincial Hospital to check on the injured victims’ conditions. He spoke with them and their families, assuring them of continued support and extending additional aid for their medical needs.
The congressman said he would closely monitor the ongoing investigation to ensure accountability and justice for the victims.
He also called for unity and prayers, urging the public to support the recovery of the injured and the healing of families affected by the tragic incident./coa
