
CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro — Classes at all levels in Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro, were suspended on Wednesday morning amid continuous heavy rains affecting the municipality.
Mamburao Mayor Glicerio Almero III announced the class suspensions through his official social media page following the recommendation of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO).

Almero said the town has been experiencing heavy rains, and he would like to ensure the safety of schoolchildren amid such inclement weather.

Local authorities said the suspension was implemented as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and school personnel amid adverse weather conditions.
Residents were also advised to continue monitoring official announcements from the local government and disaster management offices for further updates as rains persist in parts of Mindoro. Weather forecasts indicated continued rainfall in the region this week.
