The suspect is assigned to the Sapang Dalaga Municipal Police Station in Misamis Occidental.
Aside from the criminal charge, Abad said the agency is closely coordinating with the Dapitan police station and the victim, a 35-year-old carpenter, to file administrative charges for grave misconduct and conduct unbecoming of a police officer against the suspect.
“The commission remains steadfast in its mandate to hold abusive police personnel accountable,” Abad said.
He issued a stern reminder to all police officers to exercise utmost discipline, restraint, and professionalism at all times, whether on or off duty.
