
COTABATO CITY – Anti-narcotics agents arrested a suspected illegal drug peddler from Marawi City during a drug buy-bust operation in General Santos City (GenSan) on Tuesday night, seizing from him P3.4 million worth of suspected shabu.
Charlene Magdurulang, regional director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA-12), said joint operatives of PDEA-12, GenSan police, and the Philippine Coast Guard Intelligence Group Southern Mindanao conducted the buy-bust at 6:50 p.m. in Purok Maunlad Phase 2, Barangay Apopong.
Magdurulang said narcotics agents recovered five knot-tied transparent plastic bags containing white crystalline substances believed to be shabu, weighing approximately 500 grams, buy-bust money, and an Android cellular phone.

The suspect, alias “Nur,” a 28-year-old tricycle driver and resident of Barangay Dulay West, Marawi City, was immediately collared after he handed over the illegal drugs during the entrapment operation.
Detained at the PDEA detention facility in GenSan, the suspect is facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Magdurulang said the successful operation underscores the unwavering commitment of PDEA-12 and its law enforcement partners in intensifying anti-drug operations and preventing the proliferation of illegal drugs in the Soccsksargen region./coa
