ILOILO CITY — The municipal government of Dumarao in Capiz imposed on Tuesday a temporary total ban on the entry and passage of pork products and other swine-related items as a precautionary measure against the spread of African Swine Fever (ASF) following the detection of cases in nearby towns.
The restriction was ordered through Executive Order No. 2026-33 signed by Dumarao Mayor Matt Hachuela, according to a public advisory released by the local government unit.
Under the order, all pork and pork-related products are prohibited from entering or passing through the municipality until further notice.

The municipal government said the measure was necessary to protect the local hog industry and prevent ASF from reaching Dumarao after cases were reported in neighboring areas.
Authorities have directed personnel at all points of entry in the municipality to inspect cargoes, baggage, and shipments to ensure compliance with the executive order.
The advisory warned that pork products found in violation of the ban will be confiscated and disposed of in accordance with existing laws and regulations.
