WASHINGTON, June 24. /TASS/. The Iranian authorities are ready to give in to the US, President Donald Trump stated.
"So, I have Iran on the ‘ropes,’ ready to go down for the fall, willing to give us practically anything, and for the first time in decades, respecting the hell out of the US and its president, me, and the US Senate decides to have a poorly timed and meaningless War Powers Act vote, telling the number one sponsor of terror in the world (Iran - TASS) that the US doesn’t like what I am doing to them, and I must stop, and by so doing [the Senate] has provided aid and comfort the enemy," the US leader wrote in a post on his Truth Social page, commenting on the Senate's adoption of a resolution urging the president to end hostilities against Iran.
He added that during the voting, "four Republican losers" supported the resolution. "These senators have just made my job more difficult, but I will get it done, one way or the other, because I always get it done!" Trump concluded.
Earlier, the Senate followed the House of Representatives in adopting a resolution urging the Washington administration to end hostilities against Iran. This document has no legal force and is merely advisory. Lawmakers use such resolutions to state their position. The US executive branch has the right to ignore it. The document stressed that Trump must remove the US Army from hostilities against Iran. This must be done under the condition that the hostilities against Iran were not authorized by Congress and that the presence of these forces in the region is unnecessary for protecting the US and its allies from attack.
