Understanding of dollar's declining reputation will grow globally — Lavrov

MOSCOW, June 24. /TASS/. Recognition of the dollar's declining reputation will only strengthen around the world, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at the Primakov Readings forum.

"Understanding of the declining reputation of the dollar, as well as other global currencies that are being used as instruments of economic and financial warfare, will, of course, continue to grow," he said.

The minister drew attention to remarks by US President Donald Trump that Iranian assets should be unfrozen, otherwise confidence in the dollar would be undermined. "The same principle can be applied to all the other vast reserves and assets of other countries that have been frozen in the West," Lavrov noted.
