Birkirkara’s community cats are set to get some extra support this week as the Local Council launches a new initiative aimed at recognising the people who care for them.
On Friday 26th June, the Birkirkara Local Council will distribute vouchers to registered cat feeders in the locality as a token of appreciation for their voluntary work and dedication towards the welfare of stray cats.
The initiative is being funded through proceeds raised during a thrift shop event organised by the Council earlier this year specifically to support community cats.
But the support won’t stop there.
The Council has also announced plans to invest in new cat shelters across Birkirkara, providing safer and more suitable spaces for community cats living within the locality.
The event forms part of the Council’s wider commitment to animal welfare and to supporting the residents who dedicate their time and resources to caring for stray animals.
The voucher distribution event will take place at the Birkirkara Local Council Hall on Friday 26th June at 6.30pm.
