Even though I type on a computer all day, I am someone who still needs to physically write things down for them to resonate in my mind. To bridge the gap between pen and paper and my tech journalism background, I love using note-taking tablets. The best note-taking tablets have a smooth writing experience, stylus compatibility, autosync with other devices, and other features that make them more enticing than the average paper notebook.

The Kindle Scribe is perhaps the perfect example of an e-reader tablet hybrid. It has the same functions you love in a Kindle, like a 300 ppi glare-free screen, weeks of battery life, and adjustable warm light. It's also compatible with Amazon's Premium Pen, so you can take handwritten notes or underline important quotations in your e-book.

What's unique about this tablet is that TCL's Nxtpaper technology lets you switch from regular mode to color paper to ink paper (the most similar to what you can expect from an e-reader). Regular Mode provides sharp, vibrant visuals for streaming, video calls, and creating digital art.

Ink Paper Mode transforms the screen into an e-reader-like display for extended reading sessions and note-taking. Its display also helps reduce eye strain while reducing blue light, omitting a conventional backlight, and eliminating flickering, making it easier on the eyes than traditional screens

Rocketbook's products aren't exactly traditional tablets, but they are smart. The notebook's synthetic paper allows you to write with the included Pilot FriXion pen, then wipe the page clean with a damp cloth to reuse it repeatedly. The smart part is that the notebook connects to an app that stores all your notes.

Perhaps my favorite smart notebook is the Boox Note Air5C. This color e-ink tablet is built for note-taking. There are dozens of templates to use, audio recording, color-coding, and inserting links and attachments into notes. Plus, built-in artificial intelligence enables text recognition, shape correction, and a strike-through erase feature that makes erasing much easier.

This list wouldn't be complete without an iPad included in it. The iPad Air has Apple Intelligence built right in, with Writing Tools to generate text like summaries, emails, or messages, and Genmoji to create custom emoji.

When is Amazon Prime Day?
This year, Amazon set its annual Prime Day event a little earlier, bumping it up into June instead of its usual July slot. The Prime Day sales event is officially from June 23-26, but you can expect sales prior to and even after the event.
