Travis Kelce’s Reaction to Rumor His, Taylor Swift Wedding Will Be at MSG Revealed

Taylor Swift herself has said the rumors are terrible and cruel…but most of them are true.

As all eyes continue to be on the “New Romantics” singer and Travis Kelce’s forthcoming wedding, a special event permit recently filed for around Madison Square Garden in New York, according to records obtained by E! News, has raised eyebrows.

Indeed, from the evening of June 28 to the evening of July 4, the New York Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment has filed a permit for theater load in and outs for a “film event” on the city blocks where MSG is located. Notably, the concert venue has no scheduled public events between the evening of June 28, when Rüfus Du Sol performs, and July 7, when Bon Jovi makes his Forever Tour stop.

The curiously-timed permit comes less than a month after rumors first surfaced about Swift and Kelce potentially holding their wedding ceremony July 3 at Madison Square Garden.

E! News has reached out to reps for Swift but has not heard back.

However, MSG isn't the only theory about Swift and Kelce's wedding being passed around. Many fans speculated the couple would tie the knot June 13 at Ocean House in Watch Hill, Rhode Island, a grand hotel near Swift’s Holiday House estate. However, the date recently came and went without any pomp and circumstance.

Meanwhile, Swift and Kelce are shaking off anyone seeking more details about their special day. Indeed, even guests have been kept in the dark. While San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle confirmed he and his wife Claire Kittle would be in attendance—and that the wedding would take place soon—they had no further information.

“We don’t know,” Kittle told Entertainment Tonight when asked about the MSG rumors. “I actually asked Travis last night and he laughed at me.”

Indeed, the NFL player wasn’t even sure of the general area where festivities would take place.

“I’m half expecting there to just be a jumbo jet on a runway,” Kittle joked, “And they put us on a plane somewhere. I don’t have expectations. I know it’s going to be amazing.”

As for whether a ceremony at MSG matches the white veil occasion Swift has always envisioned? Despite her romantic songs, the “Love Story” singer shared she hadn’t given the specifics of her wedding day much thought prior to getting engaged to Kelce in August 2025.

“You would think that I had been the type of person who would have obsessed over the idea of a wedding my whole life," Swift admitted during an October appearance on U.K.’s Heart Radio, “but I actually never thought about what I would ever do or what I would want until I met the person."

And MSG would be the perfect spot for the one detail of her vision that Swift has shared.

“It’s huge,” Swift joked of her guest list after extending an invite to Graham Norton during an appearance on his talk show in October. “I know it’s gonna be fun to plan because I think the only stressful weddings are the ones where you have a small amount and people are on the bubble.”

As she put it, “I’m not gonna do that—it’s gonna be fun.”
