Taylor Swift Gives Surprise Performance at Travis Kelce’s Tight End University

Kane Brown wasn't able to pull off a set after this incident.

The "One Thing Right" singer had to cancel his performance at Travis Kelce, George Kittle and Greg Olsen's annual Tight End University (TEU) opening night bash in Nashville June 23 after getting more than 20 stitches for an ear injury.

"Shot to the head by a golf ball," Brown shared in an Instagram Story the same day alongside a snap of his bloody ear. In a second, he added, "They said it will prob get worse next 48 hours, but I'm alive and that's all that matters."

The 32-year-old—who previously performed a song with Taylor Swift at last year's concert—shared further insight into the injury in a video on his Instagram Story, explaining, "Welp, 23 stitches later and a slight concussion."

As fans waited for Brown to take the stage at the event—which featured tight ends invited to the annual training event, as well as their friends and family—former Las Vegas Raiders linebacker Will Compton announced the news.

"Kane Brown got hit with a golf ball today on the golf course, 23 stitches," he said in videos circulating on social media. "He says concussion, the football guys probably don't buy it. He's not gonna make it, but just for a moment gonna do a moment of silence for Craig Kane Brown."

While Brown was sorely missed amid his recovery, Swift—who is preparing for her upcoming nuptials with Kelce—stepped in to enchant the crowd with a surprise performance of "Love Story" alongside headliner Lainey Wilson.

TEU co-founder Kittle couldn't help but praise the Grammy winner's appearance.

"She's just such an awesome person to give us her time this close to their wedding," he told People in an interview published June 23. "So, we're just so thankful that they're here."

The former San Francisco 49ers tight end was especially grateful for Swift's kindness during the annual event.

"She's just hanging out, talking to my mom," he added. "Thanks, Mom. Shoutout Taylor for talking to my mom again. But she's just so kind and it's awesome to have her around."
