Botched’s Terry Dubrow Reveals Most Overrated Plastic Surgery—& One You'll Regret
Natalie Joy learned a mommy makeover might not be just what the doctor ordered—at least not yet.
When the 27-year-old interviewed plastic surgeon Dr. Terry Dubrow—who has worked with celebrity patients from Janice Dickinson to Kim Zolciak-Biermann—alongside husband Nick Viall, she scored free medical advice about how to handle cosmetic treatments between pregnancies.
“The general rule I tell people is, if you’re thinking of having kids in the next two years, don’t [get plastic surgery] because it’s just gonna change everything," Dubrow said during a June 24 episode of the Viall Files podcast. "Don't touch the tummy or the breasts. Don't do anything."
The Botched star explained to Joy—who announced her pregnancy with twins Feb. 4—why it was "rare" to maintain the desired results from any procedure, including a breast augmentation, across multiple pregnancies.
"If you go, for example, from a small B to a full C, you've stretched out your skin," Dubrow articulated of a hypothetical case following an initial pregnancy. "Then you get pregnant [again], now you're engorged with milk. You're now, what, a double D? Then you stop breastfeeding—or you don't breastfeed—but anyway [your cup size] goes back down to a C."
"But what happens to the skin? Now you need a lift," Dubrow summarized of potential drooping that he says can happen during later post-partum stages. "Now you need removal of skin and scars. It's better to wait."
Because of the way the body changes during and after pregnancy, Dubrow recommended “no mommy makeovers until you’re complete,” suggesting Joy wait to pursue any plastic surgery until she's "done, done" with having children.

Afterwards, Joy—already mom to her and Viall's 2-year-old daughter River Rose—emphasized how grateful she was to have Dubrow answer her "many plastic surgery questions” related to motherhood.
And now, thanks to Dubrow's cautious approach, she quipped, "I have so many appointments I have to cancel."
