
DepEd-7 to review school security after deadly Tacloban shooting
LAPU-LAPU CITY, Cebu — Education officials in Central Visayas will meet on Thursday, June 25, to review and strengthen school safety measures following the deadly shooting at a public high school in Tacloban City. Regional Director Arturo Bayocot of the Department of Education in Central Visayas (DepEd-7) said he had called a management committee meeting with schools division superintendents and school heads to discuss safeguards for students and school personnel. “On top our agenda is the reinforcement of policies in terms of safeguarding the lives of our students and teachers,” Bayocot said.
