Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia has been named the official partner country for Russia's International Industrial Exhibition (INNOPROM) 2026, with Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita set to lead the country's delegation.
The trade fair will take place in Yekaterinburg, Russia, from July 6–9, according to a statement from the Indonesian Embassy in Moscow received in Jakarta on Wednesday.
At the annual event, Indonesia will showcase products and capabilities across four key industrial sectors, spanning metals, machinery, transportation equipment, and electronics.
The display will also cover agroindustry, which includes agriculture, plantations, food, and bioindustry, alongside small, medium, and miscellaneous manufacturing industries, as well as chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and textiles.
Russian Ambassador to Indonesia Sergey Tolchenov said around 200 Indonesian participants, including business executives and companies, have registered to attend.
"We have received written confirmation that Agus Kartasasmita, Indonesia's minister of industry, will lead the Indonesian delegation, and we expect a quite large contingent," Tolchenov said in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Tolchenov expressed hope that all registered participants would actively engage in the exhibition, which he described as one of the largest international industrial trade fairs in Central Asia and Eurasia.
During the visit, Kartasasmita is expected to meet Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov, alongside other Russian partners. He is also scheduled to pay a courtesy call on Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
Indonesia will set up a national pavilion at the venue, allowing domestic companies to showcase their products, technologies, and industrial achievements to Russian and international partners.
"We also hope to establish several contacts at the regional level, because Mr. Kartasasmita wants to meet leaders from several Russian regions attending the event, possibly to sign several agreements or memorandums of understanding," Tolchenov added.
Held annually since 2010, INNOPROM is regarded as the premier international industrial exhibition in the Eurasian region.
Indonesia's participation is expected to strengthen bilateral cooperation in industry and investment while expanding trade access to non-traditional markets in Russia and member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
