ILOILO CITY — The Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP) has called on its member schools to take part in a nationwide day of prayer on June 28, expressing support for a faith-led campaign that organizers say seeks national renewal through peaceful and prayerful action.
In a statement titled “A Call for National Spiritual Renewal,” CEAP endorsed the June 28 prayer rally at the EDSA People Power Monument organized by the Inter-Religious Leaders Council for National Transformation and the White Ribbon Movement.

CEAP said schools in Metro Manila are encouraged to participate in the gathering at the EDSA Shrine and People Power Monument, while member institutions in the provinces are invited to hold simultaneous prayer assemblies on their respective campuses.
The association appealed particularly to the youth, saying they deserve a Philippines guided by integrity, justice, and the common good. It expressed hope that the nationwide prayer initiative would inspire renewed commitment to truth and responsible citizenship.
The statement echoed a pastoral message issued earlier by Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) President Archbishop Gilbert Garcera, who encouraged Catholics to continue praying for the country and invited those who wish to join the June 28 White Ribbon March to do so peacefully and prayerfully.

In his June 22 message, Garcera thanked bishops, priests, religious, and lay faithful for responding to the call for “A Nation’s Prayer for Enlightenment, Conversion, and Renewal.”
The CBCP president said the White Ribbon March would serve as a faith-based, non-partisan expression calling for truth, accountability, justice, and righteousness in public life, while emphasizing that participation should always be guided by conscience and carried out with respect and prayer.

Garcera also reminded Catholics not to neglect their Sunday Mass obligation, stressing that the Eucharist remains the source of the nation’s spiritual strength and the foundation for becoming instruments of reconciliation, justice, and hope.
He likewise entrusted the country to the care of Our Lady of Guadalupe and asked the faithful to pray for the enlightenment of minds, the conversion of hearts, and the renewal of the nation./coa
