Prime Minister Robert Abela yesterday officially submitted his nomination to continue serving as leader of the Labour Party.
The move forms part of the party’s internal process to confirm its leadership following the general election, which saw Labour secure a historic fourth consecutive mandate.
Abela said the trust shown by the Maltese public has given him further motivation to keep leading both the party and the country as Prime Minister.
He also said he is now focused on turning Labour’s INT MALTA electoral manifesto into reality for the Maltese people.
The leadership confirmation process comes after the general election and ahead of the Labour Party’s Extraordinary General Conference.
