
TABACO CITY, Albay — Sen. Risa Hontiveros led the blessing and inauguration of a P10-million adult day center at Hiraya Manawari Nature Park in Barangay San Vicente here on Wednesday.
The facility is designed as a one-stop center offering health care services, lifelong learning training, livelihood opportunities, and recreational activities for the elderly.

Albay 1st District Rep. Cielo Krisel Lagman said the center aims to make government services more accessible to elderly residents.

An estimated 13,000 senior citizens in Tabaco City are expected to benefit from the facility.
She said the project is expected to keep seniors active and productive.
The facility was realized through the initiative and effort of former Rep. Edcel Lagman, with assistance from Hontiveros.
Lagman said this is the first such facility in Albay, with more centers planned for construction to serve the elderly people in the province.

“This is their home, where they can come together and do their activities in a safe place,” she said.
She added that the center may also serve as a venue for livelihood activities, including the possible operation of a small coffee shop by senior citizens, and other training programs./coa
