
MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thursday expressed sympathy for the victims of the magnitude 7.1 and 7.5 earthquakes that struck Venezuela, killing at least 32 people. The back-to-back earthquakes hit the town of Morón on Wednesday evening (Venezuelan time), causing buildings to collapse and injuring more than 700 people. “Deeply saddened by the devastating earthquakes that struck Venezuela. On behalf of the Filipino people, I extend our heartfelt sympathies,” Marcos said in a social media post.
