The internationally acclaimed Candlelight concert series is returning to the Algarve this summer, bringing atmospheric performances inspired by artists ranging from ABBA and Adele to Hans Zimmer, alongside programmes featuring classical composers and modern rock favourites.
Running between June 20 and September 5, the series will be staged at three venues across the region: Pestana Vila Sol Vilamoura, Kimpton Atlântico Algarve and Hotel Vila Galé Lagos.
Performed by professional local musicians in venues illuminated by thousands of candles, the concerts reinterpret a wide range of musical genres, combining classical works, iconic film scores and tributes to some of the world’s best-known artists.
At Pestana Vila Sol Vilamoura, audiences can enjoy concerts dedicated to acclaimed film composer Hans Zimmer on June 27 and August 8. The same dates will also feature The Four Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi, while July 25 will offer performances celebrating the music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Johann Sebastian Bach, alongside a tribute to British singer-songwriter Adele.
Kimpton Atlântico Algarve will host Tribute to ABBA and More on July 11 and August 15, with performances beginning at 9.30pm.
Meanwhile, Hotel Vila Galé Lagos will stage a tribute to Coldplay and Imagine Dragons on August 1 and September 5, also starting at 9.30pm.
Tickets start from €16 for the Lagos concerts, €20 at Pestana Vila Sol Vilamoura and €21 at Kimpton Atlântico Algarve.
Presented by live entertainment platform Fever, Candlelight has become a global phenomenon since its launch, with performances now taking place in more than 150 cities worldwide.
The concept aims to make classical music more accessible while offering fresh interpretations of popular repertoire in unique settings. The candlelit atmosphere has become a defining feature of the series, transforming hotels, historic buildings and other distinctive venues into intimate concert spaces.
The Algarve programme offers residents and visitors a chance to experience music in a different setting throughout the summer, with performances spanning everything from timeless classical compositions to chart-topping pop hits and unforgettable cinematic soundtracks.
