Eala, Williams exit Bad Homburg in quarterfinals, now shift to Wimbledon

Alex Eala and Venus Williams put up a good fight but lost to the second-seeded pair at the Bad Homburg Open, their last tournament in the run-up to Wimbledon next week. Tereza Mihalikova, 28, and Olivia Nicholls, 31, needed just one hour and 20 minutes to stop the popular pair’s campaign in the quarterfinals, 6-3, 6-2. They will face Ellen Perez and Demi Schuurs in the semifinals. Before Bad Homburg, Mihalikova and Nicholls won the HSBC Championships women’s doubles title in London in early June.
