The 512GB version of the iPhone Air is £907 (was £1,199) on Amazon today, as part of the Amazon Prime Day.
Debuting in September last year, the iPhone Air remains the world’s thinnest smartphone. When it first came out I thought it looked slightly ridiculous, especially with the high price tag, but when you see one in the flesh (so to speak), they do look incredibly cool.

The iPhone Air is just 5.6 mm thick and weighs just 165 grams. I’ve seen my colleagues at work, like Axel Metz, use one, and write about how they still feel a bit conflicted about it, but the reservations are mainly down to the price. And this Amazon Prime Day, the price took a 24% hit that makes the iPhone Air more tempting than ever.
The world's thinnest smartphone
Today's best iPhone Air Deal
Of course, there are compromises — a smaller battery than the Pro models, fewer cameras, and the premium you’re paying for Apple squeezing it into the thinnest case ever.
But the Prime Day Deal does a lot to change that equation.
If you've been intrigued by the iPhone Air for a while now, like I have, then this is probably the safest time to scratch that itch.
Rather than another black slab, the iPhone Air looks like a real piece of industrial design — just picking it up is enjoyable. I’m coming to the conclusion that life is a bit too short not to choose the things that give you the most enjoyment, and the iPhone Air genuinely looks different to every other smartphone.
