
CEBU CITY, Philippines — Authorities intercepted 11 40-foot cargo containers loaded with illicit cigarettes worth an estimated ₱860 million during a joint operation in Cebu on Wednesday, June 24. The operation stemmed from intelligence information that led authorities to the shipments in Mandaue City and Cebu City. The Bureau of Customs (BOC)-Port of Cebu, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Philippine National Police (PNP), and Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) carried out the operation.
