
Mandaue City schools tighten security after Tacloban shooting
MANDAUE CITY, Cebu — Security measures in Mandaue City’s schools, both public and private, will be strengthened as local authorities move to prevent campus disturbances and ensure the safety of students and personnel. The Local School Board of Mandaue City discussed the measures in an emergency meeting following the shooting at a school in Tacloban City last Monday, June 22 that killed three students and injured about 20 others. According to Mandaue City Mayor Thadeo “Jonkie” Ouano, the city and all educational institutions must remain prepared to safeguard students, teachers, school employees, and parents.
