Celebrity chef and food creator Donal Skehan has shared his love for Malta after a recent trip around the islands, saying he and his friend had “the most incredible time” and enjoyed “the best food”.
“Safe to say we’ll definitely be going back!” Skehan wrote as he looked back on the culinary adventure, before asking followers to share their own favourite places to eat in Malta.
His food tour took him across the islands, with stops in Marsaxlokk, Rabat, Mdina and Valletta to sample a wide range of traditional Maltese dishes.
Among the local favourites he tried were lampuki, aljotta, pastizzi, qassatat, ftira, imqaret, ħelwa tat-Tork, rabbit dishes, braised horse meat, cannoli, Maltese coffee and Kinnie.
Skehan also visited a number of well-known eateries, including Tartarun, Roots, Diar il-Bniet, Harbour Club, Crystal Palace, Gustav Café, Root 81, Caffè Cordina and Ta’ Nenu, as well as the Marsaxlokk Fish Market.
The post, shared in collaboration with VisitMalta, shines another spotlight on Malta’s growing reputation as a destination where visitors can experience both traditional cuisine and modern dining.
