
LUCENA CITY, QUEZON, Philippines — Police arrested an alleged female drug trafficker and seized suspected shabu worth P510,000 in a buy-bust operation in this city on Wednesday night, June 24.
Col. Romulo Albacea, Quezon Provincial Police Office director, in a report on Thursday, said that operatives of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) arrested the suspect, identified only as “Nilda,” 50, in Barangay Mayao Crossing.
The suspect allegedly sold P500 worth of shabu to an undercover officer during the operation.

The anti-illegal drugs operatives confiscated from Nilda one knot-tied plastic and one sealed plastic sachet containing a total of 25 grams of suspected shabu.
Based on the Dangerous Drugs Board’s standard valuation, the seized drugs were estimated at P170,000 at P6,800 per gram.

However, the same quantity could fetch as much as P510,000 on the street market, based on a prevailing price of P20,400 per gram.

The suspect, a resident of the area, is classified as a street-level drug pusher.
Albacea said the operation highlights the police force’s sustained campaign against illegal drugs.

The suspect is now in police custody and is facing charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. /cb
