Former CEO of FS must serve five years

Convictions for the June 29, 2009

Viareggio train disaster that killed 32 people became final

Thursday and former rail chief Mauro Moretti must serve five

years in jail.

The judges of the Fourth Criminal Section of the Supreme Court

of Cassation ruled this by rejecting the appeals and upholding

the five-year sentences for former CEO of Ferrovie dello Stato

(FS) and RFI CEO Moretti and the other 10 defendants.

Moretti will now serve prison time.
