Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders' Reece Weaver Shares Truth Behind Her Retirement
Reece Weaver was ready to put down her pom-poms on her own accord.
In other words, no one else was choreographing her surprising decision to retire from the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders after three seasons.
"There's a lot of people that speculate that this wasn't necessarily my decision, like other outside things were pulling me," Weaver told E! News in an exclusive interview after the reveal on the season three finale of America's Sweethearts. "A lot of people are always scared to stay in their box and be like, 'Well, this is it. There's no other step.' I just want to encourage people to be bold enough to take that leap."
And she can definitely leap.
"It's scary because I'm currently in that right now," Weaver continued. "There's so much more outside for everyone. I think that's another reason why I really wanted to step into the next chapter."
Will Allman, Weaver's husband of two years, is right beside her.
When the season dropped on June 16, their marriage took center stage in episode seven as the couple detailed how the Netflix docuseries affected their personal lives.
"Will and I have definitely worked through a lot in our first year of marriage," Weaver, 24, said during a confessional. "I would say it's been a very abnormal first year of marriage. It took a 180 and I was not only trying to navigate being a good wife, but I also have a new reality."
A large part of that was Allman's involvement in overseeing her sponsored social media posts.
"It was a learning curve," the 24-year-old admitted during the episode. "We were literally thrown to the wolves 'cause immediately, people were messaging Reece wanting her to do this, wanting her to do that. It was brand-new to us."

"These are really cool opportunities that we can't really pass up, but it got to a point where I was telling Reece what to do," he continued. "'You need to do this. This is the deadline for this.' It became more like a business partnership rather than a marriage."
Weaver emphasized that hanging up her DCC uniform was a decision she mulled over for quite some time.
"I've been wrestling with this decision all throughout this past year and a lot of it came from just having a heart full of gratitude," she explained to E!. "I really felt at peace that I was supposed to take a leap of faith and just trust that I might not know what's in store the next three months or so down the road."

But that's not to say she won't keep the thunder alive elsewhere in her life.
"I still want to continue to dance and just explore what life has to offer," she reflected. "I think my entire life has been, 'OK, what's next? How can I continue?' I'm still thinking that today, but I feel like for the first time in my life, I'm really thinking about, 'OK, what really is next?'"
"That's exciting," Weaver added. "You're just jumping into the unknown. Yes, not everything has to be permanent. That's the learning process of it all. I'm gonna continue to dance, watch me.
