Talent identification among focus of Cebu Provincial Sports Commission

CEBU CITY, Philippines—One of the major thrusts of the Cebu Provincial Sports Commission (CPSC) is the talent identification across Cebu’s municipalities from its grassroots program. CPSC Chairman, Dr. Rhoel Dejaño revealed this plan recently. The CPSC aims to discover and develop “diamonds in the rough” — talented athletes who have yet to be recruited by schools or given opportunities to compete and train formally. These athletes will be integrated into the commission’s grassroots development program, which is set to resume later this year following successful pilot summer programs in Consolacion and San Fernando.
