Love Island USA's Vasana Montgomery Breaks Silence on Removal Over Past Racial Slur
Alannah Keyser's time in the Villa has come to an end.
The 21-year-old—who joined Love Island USA June 21 as one of six female Islanders introduced during the annual Casa Amor twist—will no longer be featured on the dating show following resurfaced footage and screenshots allegedly showing her using the N-word, Peacock confirmed to multiple outlets.
The footage was not accessible during the series' vetting process, a Peacock rep told the New York Times on June 25.
Keyser first turned heads among the season eight cast when she entered the Villa during a costumed striptease wearing sparkly angel wings. However, a video allegedly showing Keyser repeating lyrics from the Roddy Ricch song "The Box" circulated online. In the moment seemingly screen-recorded from Keyser's Snapchat Story, she appears to say, "She sucked a n---a soul, gotta Cash App."
Another screen grab of Keyser's Snapchat activity allegedly shows the USC student privately messaging a user, "and then that n----r literally tried to flirt with me" alongside a crying emoji. Fans noted the Snapchat DM was similar in tone to a comment seemingly posted from Keyser's Instagram account, where she allegedly used a slang variation of the slur.
Before she was removed, Keyser was pursuing relationships with multiple cast members on the series, including Bryce Dettloff and Zach Georgiou.
"I need a guy that's in shape. Body is tea, then he's the one for me," Keyser said when describing her mindset on the show. "I'm definitely going in for the kill, I'm gonna get what I want."

Keyser joins dropped cast member Vasana Montgomery, who was sent home days before the June 2 premiere following a video of her allegedly using the N-word gained attention.
"I want to address a couple videos from my teen years that have recently surfaced. In those videos, I used a racial slur. There is no excuse for it, and I am deeply sorry," Montgomery said in an Instagram Story statement June 3. "I take full responsibility for what I said and understand why it has hurt and upset people."
