Citing reports, the agency noted that the incident occurred last June 13 when two Thai models visited the country for an event. It shared that the two models hailed a taxi cab where the driver allegedly refused to use the taxi meter but instead wanted a contract.
It added that the driver allegedly connived with another taxi driver to steal the cellphone of one of the models. LTFRB chairperson Atty. Vigor Mendoza II said that the incident is “not acceptable” and assured the models that the drivers will be held accountable.
The agency also said that it will issue show cause orders once it concludes its investigation. Any witness of the incident is then urged to come forward and provide details to the LTFRB and the PNP. /mr
