Italy's high rates of youth drug
recovery are a heritage that enriches the country, President
Sergio Mattarella said on World Drug Day Friday.
"Even just the recovery of one person, given the immeasurable
value of each person, is an extraordinary, inestimable success,"
said Mattarella, speaking at a ceremony at the Quirinale Palace
for the UN's International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit
Trafficking, also known as World Drug Day
"The recovery and rediscovery of the lives and futures of so
many young people, thanks to the work of communities,
facilities, and so many volunteers, is a heritage that enriches
our country.
"For this reason, our heartfelt thanks are profound."
